The Nicene Creed, A Believer’s Statement of Faith
Although I love to hear and sing it, I am not talking about the song sung by Third Day. I am talking about a document, a creed, written in 325 and updated in 381. Founded in scripture, this forms a powerful summary of the Christian faith. As Christians, we all need to remember the fundamentals of [...]
Fact or Fiction - Often Hard to Discern
I can remember growing up hearing stories from someone about another person that we both knew. I took what was said to be fact, because I thought a lot of that person. I think he really believed what he said to be true. Many, many years later, I found out that it was all a [...]
Does God’s Love Flow Through You?
Most folks would say yes without thinking. I want to look a little closer here to see if we really are doing all we could be doing. Do we really extend grace to our family and friends? Do we show them love even when we feel they do not deserve it? What about the person who [...]
Some Just Want to be God: Are They Reachable?
A lot of non-Christians want to ask about the Christian faith. Like most Christians, I always enjoy sharing. It is wonderful to see someone accept Jesus. However, I have come to realize that not everyone really wants to know or learn anything new. They just want to debate. Remember, if they can prove there is no God: [...]
Pastors Are Special Folks
I meet a lot of pastors. I observe a lot of congregations. I see a lot of need. I see a lot of faithful servants. I also see a lot of pastors who are tired and overworked. I tried to think for a moment what it would be like to walk in a pastor’s shoes. Like [...]

The surge: the right strategy for the right time

Excellent commentary that shows that the surge was the final piece in a complex puzzle that is now bringing success in Iraq:

The Complex Success of the Surge

Despite the propaganda media's negative reporting or lack of reporting of success, the American public is feeling better about the war on terror. And they should - we're winning.

Poll: For the first time since 2004, majority sees U.S. winning war on terror

Sunday morning news briefing

The propaganda media erroneously reports (misleads?) another story about Iraq. The big point in all of this: the only reason responsible people can consider withdrawal now is because those same responsible people implemented the counterinsurgency strategy known as the "surge", and now al Qaeda and the Iranian sponsored militias have been beaten. Withdrawal is now based on victory, not giving up.

Friday morning news briefing

Who do you think is winning the war on terror? Clearly, facts and statistics show that US is winning. This has come about because of President Bush and his policies. McCain has communicated that he will be at least as aggressive, and probably more aggressive, than President Bush in fighting this war. Obama will not. In fact, terrorists around the world have indicated that they would like to see Obama as president. Why would anybody vote for Obama as president, if he is who the terrorists want for president?
